Today’s High and Low

10

Sorry for the lack of posts, but it’s been an emotional day! I’ve been up since 2am and haven’t slowed down.

First, I’ll share my high. I’m going to be on “Good Morning Texas” this Monday, Feb. 3rd at 9am CST! If you’re in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, be sure to set your DVR and see if I humiliate myself on LIVE TV!  I’ll be the lead segment, and will talk about how to know the “Best Buy” price for grocery items.

Now for my low, this morning we put to sleep our 13-year-old cat, Ginko. He’d been sick for a few months, but this morning he could only walk a few steps before falling down, so we knew it was time. Thankfully, the boys got to say their goodbyes before leaving for school.

As I type this, there’s an hole in the yard my husband dug this morning and my sweet cat is wrapped up, lying peacefully in a box. My boys will be home soon and I’ll let them see Ginko (I think it’s good for closure), then we’ll have a proper ceremony when hubby gets home from work.

Sad times. Thank you or granting me a day off from posting deals.  I just didn’t have it in me today. :(

Pets are definitely a part of the family and we are now a pet-free family, as we said goodbye to our sweet pit bull, Jessie, four years ago this month.  Maybe she and Ginko are wrestling together right now, just like they used to do….

***Update***

My pastor, husband thought we needed a full ceremony.  Yep, we do pet burials in style!

  1. So sorry to hear about your four-legged family member. Sending good thoughts ya’ll’s way! Will definitely DVR Monday’s show. Thanks for letting us know 🙂

  2. Oh goodness. Sweet Ginko. He outlived his best friend by a couple years but life was never the same for him without Jesse! My heart goes out to you!!

  3. I totally remember the pet wrestling at the old house — Ginko would be hanging on with his claws, hitching a ride with Jesse!! I absolutely loved Jesse and Ginko and am so sad for you and sad they are gone. 🙁
