Welcome, Good Morning Texas viewers!

Here are FIVE things to get you headed in the right direction:

2. Check out my New to Couponing section. There you’ll find a printable “Best Buy” Price Book, the Annual Grocery Sales Cycle, learn How to Organize Coupons, and more.

3.  Watch, my FREE 1-hour “Couponing 101″ virtual classThis will give you the foundations for how to save the most money without spending a ton of time.

4. Follow me on Google+Twitter and Facebook for up-to-the minute deal postings. Also, go here to ensure you see Facebook posts. (Because when Mark Zuckerburg isn’t busy ruling the world, he’s messing around with your Facebook timeline!)

Now, let’s look at some Super Summer Savings ideas….

Energy Savings

Ever since the deregulation of electricity back in January 2002,  Texans have enjoyed the freedom of choosing their own retail electric providers. If you’re not switching companies regularly, you’re probably paying more than you should for your electricity. If you use at least 2000 kWh each month (which we definitely do during the long, HOT summer!), take a look and see what you could be saving…power to choose

Go HERE to read about how I always shop around to find the best deals and save hundreds of dollars every year. Last month, I signed on with Bounce Energy and got $150 for switching, plus I’m really impressed with all the other incentives they offer, like FREE museum and movie tickets and Chick-fil-A and Target gift cards just for paying my bill on time!

Grocery Savings

Summer is my favorite season for buying fruits and vegetables!  Why?  Because produce is cheaper and usually fresher when it’s not being shipped from distant, warmer climates. It’s a great time to affordably stock your freezer with berries, peaches, mangos and more. Be sure to print my  “Best Buy” Price List, and keep it in your coupon file, for quick reference and help in determining when items are “stock-up” worthy.

Also, Dallas/Ft. Worth is one of only seven markets where Walmart recently launched it’s Savings Catcher program that automatically compares advertised prices at competitor stores. Just enter your receipt number and if Walmart finds a lower advertised price, they’ll give you the difference. Go here for more info.

Clothing Savings

Now is the perfect time to buy summer clothes for next season.  You’ll find that most stores are having major clearance sales right now.  And the beauty of living in Texas, is that it’s usually warm up until Thanksgiving! That means we get lots of extended wear out of our lightweight clothing.

And through Wednesday, July 16th, Old Navy is having a major Summer Clearance (online and in-store) with tons of stuff $5 or less, plus BOGO FREE Flip Flops!

If you’re headed out on a road trip, be sure to use the mobile app, GasBuddy, and check your route for the best gas prices along the way. GasBuddy is a community-driven app that uses your phone’s GPS (or you can plug in your zip code) to find the lowest nearby gas prices. Search in list or map view to find the station closest to your location.

iPhone: Download it from the Apple iTunes App Store here.
Android:  Download it from Google Play here.

Also, use Coupon Sherpa and Groupon mobile apps to find local coupons for restaurants and events wherever you’re traveling.
