We are in the midst of the busy shopping season, so here are a few Holiday Shopping Tips to help you keep some festive green stuff in your pocket:
1. Get a Rebate. Always go through Ebates or TopCashBack whenever you make online purchases. You’ll easily earn 5-15% cash back from over 1,000 online stores (like Amazon, Target, Best Buy, etc.). That’s FREE money, baby! ***FYI…you’ll also get a $10 Ulta freebie from TopCashBack through 12/1
2. Compare prices – As we all probably know, online comparison shopping is incredibly easy with sites like Google or Pricegrabber. But when you’re out and about at retail stores what can you do? Well, I love opening up my Amazon app and scanning the bar code of the item I’m wanting to buy. I can quickly see what it’s selling for on Amazon (which is usually the cheapest online), plus read reviews, get specs, see videos, and more to help me make the best purchasing decision.
3. Use Coupon Codes – Before making any online purchase, go to sites like RetailMeNot or Coupon Cabin to find any current promo codes available from online retailers. You can almost always find codes for 15-20% off or even FREE shipping!
4. Get In with the Outlet – Online outlet stores aren’t just where last season’s stuff goes to die. There are incredible bargains to be found on sites like Overstock, Amazon Outlet and my personal favorite,Woot which offers one HOT deal each day in each of their categories (i.e. Tech, Home, Sport, Kids).
5. Ship it There. If you’re going to be traveling for the holidays, and make an online purchase, use FREE shipping options to have your gifts shipped to your destination, so it’s waiting for your when you arrive. That way, don’t have to hassle with lugging a bunch of gifts through an airport or finding room in an overpacked car truck!
BONUS TIP: National FREE Shipping Day is December 15th and hundreds of top merchants will offer FREE shipping on ALL orders with delivery by Christmas Eve. Sometimes it pays to procrastinate.
