Welcome, Good Morning Texas viewers!
If you’re new to my website, I’m glad you’re here! Stick around and you can save 40-60% on your groceries, household items, clothing, entertainment and more. It may seem overwhelming at first, but if you start slowly (and let me do most of the work for you), soon you’ll be Coupon Crazy, too.
Here are FIVE things to get you headed in the right direction:
1. Sign up for my FREE “Daily Deals Newsletter” and you’ll have the top deals for restaurants, movies, online, kid’s stuff, travel and more delivered to your inbox every weekday.
2. Check out my New to Couponing section. There you’ll find a printable “Best Buy” Price Book, the Annual Grocery Sales Cycle, learn How to Organize Coupons, and more.
3. Watch, my FREE 1-hour “Couponing 101″ virtual class. This will give you the foundations for how to save the most money without spending a ton of time.
4. Follow me on Google+, Twitter and Facebook for up-to-the minute deal postings. Also, go here to ensure you see Facebook posts. (Because when Mark Zuckerburg isn’t busy ruling the world, he’s messing around with your Facebook timeline!)
This year’s Sales Tax Holiday is Aug. 7 – 9, but before you head out to be amongst the craziness that is TAX-FREE WEEKEND, be sure to check out the official list of included/excluded items provided by the Texas Comptrollers Office. As in previous years, the law exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100 from sales and use taxes. That’ll save you about $8 on every $100 they spend.
BUT…
You’ll find real savings when you shop at stores offering extra incentives like “extra 30% Old Navy clearance” or “$10 of your $30 Kohl’s purchase“
AND…
There’s a lot of hype around “tax-free weekend,” but keep in mind you can enjoy tax-free shopping year round when you make purchases with many online retailers. For example, through Friday (8/7), Vera Bradley is offering 25% off sitewide, plus FREE Shipping. You can get this Vera Bradley Backpack for just $46.20 shipped (Reg. $88)! No tax. No shipping. Sweet!
If you are planning to hit the mall this weekend, here are a few D/FW retail offers you’ll find…
At Simon Mall Guest Services, purchase at least $150 worth of gift cards in the Gap family of brands and you’ll get a FREE Visa Simon Gift card worth 20% of it’s value (i.e. buy a $150 Old Navy gift card, get $30 Simon gift card).
Grapevine Mills
For every $100 you spend at a single Grapevine Mills retailer, August 7th through 9th, you’ll receive one entry into a drawing for a $500 Simon gift card.
Go HERE to see store specific deals available at Grapevine Mills.
Allen Premium Outlets
Help others be Cool for School! Donate $10 worth of school supplies at Simon Guest Services from August 7-9 and receive a “really cool” FREE gift (psst…I found out it’s a Spa Gel Hot/Cold Pac) while supplies last. Donations will benefit “Fill the Bus” Allen Community Outreach school supply drive. Go HERE for more info.
North East Mall
Spend $150 or more during Tax Free Weekend and bring your same-day North East Mall receipts to Guest Services to receive a FREE Croc Cosmetics Bag, while supplies last. See Guest Services for details.
Also, on Saturday, August 8 from 12-4 PM, Teen Vogue Brand Ambassadors will be distributing copies of the Teen Vogue Back-to-School Lookbook and fun Tribal tattoos to shoppers, while supplies last.
Go HERE to see store specific deals available at North East Mall.
