The boys and I are in Mountain Home, Arkansas for a week-long family reunion (hubby got to stay home and work!). It was an 8-hour drive, so we hit the road bright and early this morning with my parents. It was kinda nice to sit in the back seat and have flashbacks of all those crazy-long road trips with my dad at the wheel and my brother and me fighting over the arm rest. To pass the time, we’d stare out the window and play the “Alphabet Game” while listening to old radio programs my dad had recorded on cassette tapes.
Now, 21st century kids, like my boys, never look up for their iPads to see the world passing them by. Kinda sad….but it sure does make for a nice, peaceful drive! Well, that’s until someone decides they’re hungry or they need to pee…or poop. And after eight hours, three boys and Taco Bell for lunch, the town of Gassville, Ark welcomed us with open arms….
And while this little guy was able to snooze through the winding mountain roads….
My nauseous stomach was close to experiencing a different kind of Ralph….
But once we arrived, this made it all worth it….
I’ll be updating the website this week with spotty Wi-Fi and 30 family members nearby with whom I’ll be catching up, so if the deals are as forth-coming. Sorry…I’m busy enjoying life. The deals will be there next week!
