Oh, no….not again!
Blue Bell Creameries recalled select flavors of ice cream after finding chocolate chip cookie dough from a third-party supplier for use as an ingredient was potentially contaminated with listeria.
See, there’s a reason mom told you to never eat RAW cookie dough!
Obviously this recall isn’t nearly as devastating as the one last year when ALL Blue Bell products were pulled from shelves leaving ice-cream addicts across the south rocking back and forth in the fetal position. But it’s a blow for the company that’s still working to improve it’s image.
Blue Bell said it was recalling half gallons and pints of Blue Bell Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and half gallons of Blue Bell Cookie Two Step made at its Sylacauga, Alabama, creamery after intensified internal testing found the cookie dough was potentially tainted.
The ice cream products were not sold in Texas, but they were distributed in 10 states throughout the south including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North and South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
