Hi, ModMomTV fans! Give this post a "like" so we c Hi, ModMomTV fans! Give this post a "like" so we can see who's still here. Wow, it’s been nearly TWO years since I last posted...and let me tell you, a LOT has happened.

❤ I got married to an amazing man in June 2020!

❤ While on our honeymoon, we bought a 100-year-old fixer upper and then spent the next year converting it into a no-cost, grief retreat for young widows and their kids. It’s located only 15 minutes from D/FW airport...so accessible to anyone in the country. We’ve had families from New York, Wisconsin, and Indiana stay at the house.

❤ I wrote a one-women show entitled, “How to Live a Great Story: Maintaining Your Faith When the Chapters are Rewritten." My hope is audiences will hear my story and leave knowing that no matter what unthinkable, painful circumstances we may encounter in life, every story has hope. ***SirusXM invited me to present it to their ENTIRE company last fall!

❤ We bought ANOTHER house and recently received our permits to start renovations. What are we planning to do with it???

1. Host a monthly “Man Camp” for boys who have lost their dads and no longer have someone to teach them simple things like how to start a lawnmower, how to change a tire, how to throw a ball, how to treat a women, etc.

2. We'll hold group grief counseling sessions for KIDS. Shockingly, there is nothing in the Denton/Lewisville/Flower Mound/Coppell area for families.

3. And lastly, it'll be a secondary grief retreat available for young widows and kids if Broken Halos Haven is booked.

Be sure to follow @brokenhaloshaven for updates on all our projects and see how you can be a part of what we're doing. Right now, we're finishing up a secret attic hideout over the kids bunk room. It even has a HIDDEN ROOM behind a bookcase. So fun!!! Check out the video.
I used to actually get annoyed when my husband wou I used to actually get annoyed when my husband would bring me flowers. I'd say, "Well, that's a waste of money. I'm just gonna throw them out in a few days when they wilt." Yeah, I know...#joykiller
But now, each week, I buy myself a bouquet and place them on my kitchen counter as a reminder of how often he loved me well.

Don't squelch your spouse's attempt to express love and affection. Even better, YOU be the one to show that love. **Notice the Manager Markdown sticker. At least that always makes me feel better about my purchase. 😉)
Today would’ve been our 19th wedding anniversary Today would’ve been our 19th wedding anniversary. It’s interesting as I look at my ring. I’ve never been a big jewelry person and when Wayne and I were dating and talking marriage, I actually dreaded the thought of having to wear a ring on my hand the REST.OF.MY.LIFE😱. At the time, I was working in radio promotions and always active setting up events, digging around in station vans, etc. and I didn’t want a big, pronged diamond sticking up and snagging stuff. That's why I knew a "tension setting" was the one for me, so Wayne had this ring designed.

But it wasn't until a few days ago, I considered the spiritual parallel of a tension setting and a Godly marriage. You see, a tension setting is only effective when pressure is applied by both sides pressing towards the gemstone. And a hard stone, like a diamond, must be used because a gem that is too soft may fracture under the intense pressure of the setting.
Track with me here…. To have a successful, healthy marriage, both sides must constantly push TOWARDS each other and not away. And the couple's “diamond” should be the solid rock of Christ...because marriage brings intense pressure. Can I get an “Amen”? When you chose to place “soft gemstones" at the center of your marriage (i.e. career, kids, money) and then pressure is unequally applied, the stone will get out of alignment, crumble and eventually fall away.

Are you pushing towards your spouse or away from? Is God at the center of your marriage or have soft gems taken His place; thereby pushing you away from Him and towards things that will cause your marriage to crumble under the pressure of life.

I'm so thankful Wayne and I had 18 wonderful years of marriage….and also incredibly sad not to have been given more. Of course, we dealt with plenty of pressure during those years, but we always pushed towards each other, worked things out together and built our marriage on the cornerstone of Christ. #GodlyMarriage #Wedding #Anniversary #Engagement #Marriage #WeddingRing #EngagementRing #Wife #Husband #Grief

I’ve waited until #HeartHealth month, to share a I’ve waited until #HeartHealth month, to share an encounter I had during our recent trip to New York. Hopefully it'll encourage you to add ONE supplement to your daily intake of vitamins. If my husband had known about it, he might possibly still be alive today.
On 12/26, I went with my friend to a Boxing Day party hosted by one of the parent’s from her son’s school. It was a gathering of a bunch of random people I’d never met and probably would never see again. I started chatting with Chris, an Australian living in Brooklyn who was preparing to move to Cape Cod the next week. And as it goes with typical, chit-chat party conversations, I asked him what he did for a living. He told me he’s a nutritional scientist working the Norwegian company, NattoPharma, which developed the supplement MenaQ7® Vitamin K2®? “Hmmm…what the heck is that,” I asked. Well, I learned it works to inhibit calcium from depositing where it’s hazardous (i.e. the arteries) and redirects calcium into the bones.
What? Really??? I meet a random stranger, a few months after my husband dies of a heart attack due to arteriosclerosis, and he just happens to work for the global leader of a supplement designed to prevent heart attacks! What are the odds? And more importantly — why didn’t my husband’s doctor tell him about this simple, effective vitamin supplement?!? 😕😡😩
There’s no use in asking, “why” and I’m refusing to dwell on the "what if’s” — instead, I’m looking ahead. Since my boys have a family history and genetic predisposition to heart disease by having FOUR family members (their father, great-grandmother, great-uncle, great-great grandfather who all died of heart attacks in their 40s) this supplement is going to be a part of their daily routine.
This #HeartMonth, with all the #RedDressCollection excitement and celebrity messages, consider adding K2 to your diet AND get a coronary calcium scan to actually see what’s going on INSIDE your arteries…see how this simple test saved our friend from a potential catastrophic event: https://tinyurl.com/y4sbnf6a
