Most of us are looking forward to summer and spending more time with our kids, but the lack of schedule can sometimes make it hard to organize your time. For me, I want to make sure our days aren’t so full of activities and events that we miss needed time to stop, relax and just enjoy being together.

It’s also important to teach kids how to be creative and use their imaginations when they’re bored. They might just be amazed at the adventure to be discovered in their own backyard!

Above all, I want to cherish these summer moments and enjoy this precious time as a family before the school year starts back up!

Here’s a fun idea to create a Summer Bucket List with your family!

Everyone can contribute to the list (no matter their age) and challenge the family to knock off everything on the list by the first day of school. Below are a few of the ideas to get your started:

  • Visit the summer display at the library to check out new books and read throughout the summer
  • Make homemade playdoh
  • Volunteer for Meal on Wheels delivery
  • Roast marshmallows
  • Run through the sprinklers
  • Go to a baseball game
  • Rest and relax at home
  • Go to the water park
  • Visit Daddy’s office and have lunch with him
  • Make ice cream at home
  • Go to the zoo

What activities can you come up with???
